Background
Janet is the co-author, along with her sister Greta, of four blockbuster #1 national bestselling cookbooks: Looneyspoons; Crazy Plates; Eat, Shrink & Be Merry; and The Looneyspoons Collection. She also co-hosted the popular Food Network Canada TV show, Eat, Shrink & Be Merry, and created an award-winning line of healthy prepared foods sold in grocery stores across Canada.

With over 2 million books sold, Janet and her sister are among Canada’s all-time bestselling authors. Their first cookbook, Looneyspoons, became one of the fastest-selling books in Canadian publishing history, with an astonishing 900,000 copies sold. It spent an incredible 85 weeks on the national bestseller list and 8 months at the #1 spot. Amazing, considering the girls self-published the book out of their basement after being rejected by all publishers!

The sisters and their inspirational, rags-to-riches, entrepreneurial success story have been featured on hundreds of media outlets across North America, including The Today Show, CNN, NPR, People magazine, USA Today, QVC, Reader’s Digest, Canada AM, CBC Radio and CTV News.
Known for her trademark wit and humor, Janet – the writer, researcher and holistic practitioner of the duo – has a true knack for making complicated subjects like health, wellness and nutrition “easier to digest.”
Turning the page to my next, exciting chapter!
Even though I've had a pretty celebrated career teaching people what to eat, my own serious health challenges have taught me that creating our best-ever health isn't always just about food. Don't get me wrong—what we eat matters. Huge!
But sometimes, the difference between vitality and illness isn't about what you're eating; it's about what's eating you!
I'm talking about buried or stuck emotions, self-limiting thoughts and beliefs, the unrelenting stresses of modern life, toxins, infections, traumas, loneliness, even "stuff" our ancestors lived through. Sometimes we need a diet makeover. And sometimes we need a mindset makeover. And sometimes we need to dig deeper to find true, lasting health and happiness. Sometimes there's more to the story!
Mission: Possible!
I've been a competitive athlete from an early age (soccer, tennis, basketball, bowling, hide & seek—you name it!), so I naturally developed an interest in anatomy and optimizing sports performance through nutrition. But it was chronic digestion problems resulting from a childhood appendectomy and a string of sports injuries and surgeries in my late teens that sparked my deep passion for exploring other ways to heal and thrive.
What I discovered was illuminating! Against all odds, AND the opinion of my orthopaedic surgeon, I overcame six knee operations and ended up excelling in competitive soccer and basketball during my university years. I was even inducted into the Carleton University Sports Hall of Fame in 2000 for being the first female athlete ever to be named to a Canadian Interuniversity Athletics Union (CIAU) All-Canadian Team!
My first real taste of energy medicine was in 2005 when I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease, a serious autoimmune disorder with frightening complications and no traditional medical cure. Remarkably, I reversed the condition using natural methods, including diet, supplementation, acupuncture, herbal and advanced energy medicine—and most importantly, the powerful effect of intention, thoughts and words.
From Student to Master Practitioner
After dipping my toes into complementary and integrative healing, I decided to dive heart- and head-first into studying and practicing the BodyTalk System of advanced energy medicine in 2009. That transformative experience inspired me to pursue a PhD in Natural Medicine at the International Quantum University for Integrative Medicine in Honolulu, which I'm currently working away at.
A winter getaway to California in 2018 unexpectedly led to my next-level evolution: BodyIntuitive, a pioneering mind-body energy medicine system that merges modern science with ancient wisdom in a way that's never been done before. I was seriously blown away by its sheer brilliance and jaw-dropping results, especially its ability to resolve complex, chronic conditions by unlocking the emotional energies tied directly to them. It was love at first session! So much so, I ended up as editor of the inaugural BodyIntuitive course manual, helping its founders take this revolutionary vision of healthcare from idea to reality.
Today, I'm thrilled to be a certified BodyIntuitive Master Practitioner, integrating everything I've experienced, and witnessing profound transformation in my clients.
